We are excited to introduce you to Meghann Carvin! She is providing therapy alongside Connected Couples Counseling this year as she pursues her degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Meghann is not new to the world of pursuing further education as she brings a background in child development, business leadership, and education. Her multiple passions and pursuits have shaped her to bring a well-rounded experience to her work. With a specific interest in providing couples therapy, Meghann is bringing a fresh perspective and energy to the therapy world.
Meghann wrote this to introduce herself:
I’m Meghann, a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern dedicated to helping couples build strong, loving, and fulfilling relationships. As a therapist, I draw from Narrative Family Therapy and the Gottman Method to provide a supportive and effective counseling experience. Narrative Family Therapy focuses on understanding and reshaping the stories you tell about yourself and your relationships, helping you separate problems from your identity and develop empowering narratives. The Gottman Method emphasizes building healthy communication, emotional connection, and conflict management skills, using evidence-based tools to strengthen relationships. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs, ensuring that we work together to achieve your goals and foster meaningful change.
I believe that self-love, self-esteem, commitment, compassion, and effective communication are the foundations of any healthy relationship. As a therapist, my goal is to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you and your partner can explore your challenges, celebrate your strengths, and work toward a shared vision of happiness.
With a background in child development, business leadership, and education, I bring a well-rounded perspective to my work. My passion lies in helping couples navigate the complexities of their relationships while fostering growth, understanding, and resilience.
Whether you’re facing communication barriers, trust issues, or simply looking to strengthen your connection, I’m here to guide you toward a relationship that adds joy and positivity to your life. Let’s work together to create the partnership you both deserve!
Outside of Therapy:
I’m a proud mom of three and a lifelong learner who’s currently completing my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. When I’m not working with clients, I enjoy reading, dancing, cooking, video games, and traveling.
As a clinical intern, Meghann has a unique experience during her internship year. She will have the opportunity to be supervised by Rachel Elder, owner, and therapist at Connected Couples Couples, and will engage in clinical supervision and case consultation by her professors at her school. This is unique as it means each of the clients she works with throughout the year has a specialized care process as Meghann explores ways she can improve her clinical care and skill set. While the professors and supervisors are not in the room with the clients and Meghann, they are receiving the clinical experience and expertise of multiple therapists to help shape and impact the therapy work.
If you are interested in working with Meghann or know someone who is seeking therapy support, Meghann is currently available to meet with clients virtually Mondays through Wednesdays from 4-7 PM. Her rates are $50 per session and reduced are available. You can reach out for a free 20-minute consultation by emailing admin@connectedcouplescounseling.com
